Seminars, Workshops and Meetings
We hold many regular seminars, workshops and lectures. An orientation meeting is held for our graduate students in the fall semester. Every fall, we also organize the Alan Mekler Lecture in memory of our valuable colleague.
The members of the Department have organized themselves into seven research groups: Computer Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Fluid Dynamics, History of Mathematics, Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Variational Methods, Number Theory, and Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing. Please check the individual research groups about talks and seminars.
In addition, we are fortunate to have four centres and one institute dedicated to mathematical research at Simon Fraser University. Some of them list their events on their respective websites: CECM, IRMACS , and PIMS. MITACS holds events across Canada.
