Research Interests

My main research area is Computer Algebra - also called Symbolic Computation. I am interested in computing with polynomials over number fields, finite fields, and function fields and the general problem of algebraic simplification.

I am also interested in theoretical computer science, problems and tools in scientific computing, algorithms for algebraic geometry, and teaching cryptography.

I am perhaps best known for my association with the Maple computer algebra system and remain actively involved in the development of Maple.
