Notes on Documents Required
Applicants who have graduated, or expect to graduate, from Canadian universities are not required to submit GRE scores, but we recommend that they do. We also recommend that all applicants submit scores from a Subject Test, when one of the subjects in which Subject Tests are offered is appropriate.
Applicants in countries where the required examinations are not administered should include a letter of explanation and alternative evidence of equivalent credentials where possible.
Letters of reference should satisfy the following requirements
- at least two of which should be from persons familiar with the applicant's academic achievements
- for MSc applicants, letters should address the ability of the applicant to undertake advanced work
- for PhD applicants, letters should address the ability of the applicant to undertake substantial original research
GRE scores means scores for the General Test and the Mathematics Subject Test of the Graduate Record Examinations. Enquiries concerning these examinations can also be addressed in writing to:

TOEFL scores means the scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language. The normal university minimum requirement for English proficiency for the TOEFL internet based exam is a total score of 93, with a minimum score of 20 in each category. For the paper based TOEFL test, the university normally requires a score of 580, with TWE 5. Enquiries concerning these examinations can also be addressed in writing to:

IELTS scores means the scores of the International English Language Testing System. The normal university minimum requirements for English proficiency for the IELTS is an overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section
